The 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 28 and it will be the 39th race in the UK capital, part of the World Marathon Majors. How to enter the 2019 London Marathon ballot The ballot entry opened on Monday, April 30, 2018 and those wanting to run can only enter once.

Last year's winner of the men's elite marathon Eliud Kipchoge is back aiming for a fourth win in the capital.

Kipchoge, 24, is the current marathon world record holder and holds the London marathon course record.

Mo Farah is back for his second London marathon after finishing third in 2018.

Eight time winner David Weir will be competing in the men's wheelchair race.
